It is a bird with a big orange beak. Kinda fat beak, if you know what I'm meaning. It is widely used as ornaments here in South Africa.
Also known as "Flying Banana". Beak looks like a banana and can be yellow or orange

I don't know if there's a hornbill at Ann the Gran, but wow has that site changed!!! I see Ann the Gran is now Trademarked, and the site is way bigger and more complicated! Anyway, here's the link to the homepage, below. Moyed, when you put the link in, it was to the free designs, and now you have to be registered to go there, so it gives you a 403 'forbidden' message. dit not know what's ahornbill. I believe we say "neushoornvogel"in Dutch. found a picture but no embroidery design.hope you will find one. and now other cuties can see what's a hornbill.

I think these are all Toucans, a hornbill (as we know them in Africa) have a beak that curves down more, and not quite so wide as a toucan. (I think).
The last bird in the designsbysick, look a little bit more like a hornbill.
I think the hornbill was named after the shape of its beak, just like the shape of a cow horn. The hornbills I know, also has some feathers that stand up (fringe ?), almost like a feather comb on its head.

Thanks Sandy and Marietta for your time and effort. As Liandi (my daughter) has never seen a hornbill, I would like to get 1 that looks very realistic. Must admit there are very pretty ones on the above sites!
