to my parents ansd how much they are loved and cared for. I spent most of yesterday at the hall preparing food for the big event. I was making cream of potato soup, and I have to blend the cooked potatoes to make them real smooth for the soup base. The bottom of the little pitcher literally fell out, dumping watery mashed potato mush all over the counter and floor. It was a slippery mess, so can ya guess what happened next??? YEP...I slipped in it and landed in a puddle of potato mush. I still had a lot of cooking to do, so I had to do it with potato mush drying on the seat of my pants. YEAH!! What a unique feeling!
Everyone, including my oldest brother (and that's a BIG deal!) complimented me on the table linens that I did for Mom and Dad's table. Everyone had a wonderful time. I'm so relieved that it is over. I darn near let the cat out of the bag on more than a few occasions!

I am so glad that your parents 50th was a success. Sounds like it was a lot of fun. Fortunatly you did not get hurt slipping in those mashed potatoes. I would have loved to see that backside of yours.Ha, ha

Well, I'm glad I was alone when I slipped in potatoes...at least that way, my PRIDE wasn't too badly hurt, either. LOL!

Thank You! I must admit to tearing up several times. 50 years togehter is a big deal, and I know that it was not all easy for them. It takes special people to keep sticking it out the way they did!

You know what....I was so busy setting up and cooking, that I completely forgot to get a picture of the table. Hopefully, someone there took a picture they can email me.

What a wonderful occasion a 50th is. I gave my parent's a surprise 50th Wedding Anniversary 7 years ago and the look on their faces - I'll never forget!

OH...I didn't do MOST of it...I am one of 5 kids and my brother in law likes to cook, too. Between the 6 of us, we did all the food preparation. I Didn't do a very good job of sticking to my diet, though!

I have a few pictures. I was so busy chatting with friends and family that I hadn't seen in ages, that I kind of forgot about pictures. BUT..I gave out my email address and I hope to get copies of the pictures that others had taken.

Congratulations to your parents. 50 years is a big deal in this day and age. We're creeping up on 38 in January. I'm so glad all went well and you didn't get seriously hurt in the potato mush. We must see pictures of the event and of course the happy couple.

Thank You! I found myself tearing up a few times just looking at how many people were there to celebrate with us. It was awesome!

Waterlily, first let me say you are a trooper! I can imagine that was quite the event and so happy that you weren't injured by the potato soup! Who would have thought a smashed spud would be so hazardous!!!
