...I wonder if SewCat has the same capabilities in addition to the cataloging. I don't want to buy 2 programs if I only need one.

The two programs are different. I already have Sew Iconz which changes your icons in windows to an image of the embroidery file.

I am 'trialing' sew cat at the moment. With sew cat you create a virtual catalogue, and so far I think it's great.. I file designs by digitizer, and with sew cat I can sort them into catergories which makes it easy to find a dog for example. When using sew cat it shows an image of your file in the middle pane, but only within the program.

There is a yahoo group for users of 'sewwhat' software - SewWhatEmbroiderySoftware. It is great and Steve and Judy are really helpful with any questions you have about the software.

For me sew iconz just makes it so easy to look for a file in your windows files.

Thanks, I was hoping SewCat would also show the icons and I would not need to buy both. I will probably try the SewCat Demo when I get time.
