When I do the Embossed towels, do I have to use a ws topping? I tear off as much as I can get and than spray to remove the rest, but it's way to stiff. I don't want to wash the towels that I sell.

Good question! I haven't done embossed towels myself, but I would think the embossing is digitized in such a way that you want the loops of the wording to come thru, and the other stitching holds the loops down to make the embossing. If I used a topping at all, it would be the very very thin plastic-wrap type wss. Have you tried it without any topping, say on an old handtowel of your own? You'd know for sure that way. Hugs, Marji

If you don't use WSS your pokies get mixed up and pop up where they shouldn't and don't pop up where they should. Go to the very thin type like OESD AquaFilm or Sulky Super Solvy. Sorry I don't know the name for any other brands.;)

I always use Avalon from Madeira on my towels, also with embossing, It is a very thin WSS.

there is also a type that you just use a warm iron close to it and it melts and flakes away- no washing.

Hi, I used the thin, WSS, Just spray with hot water after wards and it all comes away. Hugs Yvonne
