Hi Cuties,
I have had 3 girls of my own & never had & never been to a baby shower in my life. My daughter is having one at the end of October & I need ideas for games.. as in what to play??????
There are a few things you should know before giving me info...
1. Mum-to-be already knows it's a boy.
2. " " " has a real thing about how big she has got, so no picking mums belly size.
3. She's not into "who are these babies pictures now.. eg famous people."
4. I have come up with an Idea of using an embroidered coaster, folded in half to be a bag topper for a favours gift with baby type lollies (candy) in the bags. So the person can use the coaster afterwards as a gift.
5. We are in Australia & it will be getting warm by then.
The rest is open for suggestions from all you Cuties, Thankyou in advance,
Reggie
Q: Am I more likely to get pregnant if my husband wears boxers or briefs ?
A: You'll have an even better chance if he doesn't wear anything at all
Q: What do you call a pregnancy that begins while using birth control ?
A: A misconception
Q: What is the easiest way to figure out exactly when I got pregnant ?
A: Have sex just once a year
Q: What is the most common pregnancy craving ?
A: For men to be the ones who get pregnant
Q: I'm two months pregnant now. When will my baby move ?
A: With any luck, right after he finishes college
Q: My breasts, rear end & even my feet have grown. Is there anything that gets smaller during pregnancy ?
A: Yes, your bladder
Q: My wife is 5 months pregnant and so moody that she's borderline irrational.
A: So what's your question ?
Q: What's the difference between a pregnant woman and a Playboy centerfold ?
A. Nothing, if the pregnant woman's husband knows what's good for him
Q: What position should the baby be in during the ninth month of pregnancy ?
A: Head down, pressing firmly on your bladder
Q: When is the best time to get an epidural ?
A: Right after you find out you're pregnant
Q: What is colic ?
A: A reminder for new parents to use birth control

Some of the other games have been mentioned already
Hope this helps Reggie - hugs Yvonne
to get started, have everyone write down a great piece of advice for the MOM-TO-BE...go around the room and introduce yourselves...read the advice out loud you give .....
because some guests have to leave early, the next thing is the first game and gift opening...
game 1...have everyone draw a bingo block (5 across and 5 down) squares 25 total...each guest fills in all blocks with baby items (bib, bottle, shirt, pants, etc.)...as the Mom opens the gifts one at a time, the guests will cross off the item if it is on their block...the first guest to get a baby bingo will win a prize....if you want to do black out, you can do it that way......this will allow you to play a game and open the gifts at the beginning so everyone can see them.....
game 2.....
pick 5 to 7 baby food jars that look exactly the same...( I used papaya---mango---chicken noodle dinner---sweet corn casserole---vegetable & chicken---peaches, oatmeal & bannanas---butternut squash)....these are all orande...put a number on top and list the item on a piece of paper for yourself....remove the label..... pass these around to the guests and have them guess what they are ....tell them they are all different..they cannot open the jars....the one who gets the most correct wins the prize.....
game 3....
diaper cake...used as a centerpiece, also a game....
I put one item that started with the alphabet.....A=applesauce, B=brush C=comb, D=diapers, E= ear thermometer, ETC... give the guests 1 to 2 minutes to view the cake...remove it from site...have the guests list the alpha down the page...then have them tell you what was on the cake per alpha....harder than what you think because it has to be listed right to get it all right....if you choose to do this one, I can help you with all the items.......this is also a gift the mother can use all items from you.....
I have alot more ideas if you need more......
I think the funnest one I ever did was to...(DO NOT TELL THEM AT FIRST AND HAVE ONE ALREADY MADE UP) give each guest (or team) 6 balloons...1 for the head, 1 for the body, and the other 4 for the legs and arms..have a large assortment of baby clothing articles..have each person/team pick one article from the stash....each person/team must blow up the balloons and create a baby from them...they can tie them together or tape them together....They must have the piece of article on the baby where it belongs.....this was a great hit....we wound up with babies that looked like weinner dogs...some with great big heads and little bodies...one arm long one arm short.....The people who choose the full outfits are the ones that had the hardest time getting them on....the ones that chose a cap or bib was the easiest....if you do this game, you need extra balloons (in case they pop), lots of rolls of scotch tape....There was alot of humor laughter and a race to be the first to create and dress a baby....
another easy one is to fill a bowl full of m&m's, snickers, hershey kisses, baby ruths, mounds, ol'e Henery's.......each person takes 2 or three pieces....They had to create a complete sentence using all pieces of candy in it....an example would be...One day your Baby Ruth will meet Ole Henery and mounds of kisses will follow.....There are 4 pieces in that one....You will get quite a few interesting ones there.....
unfortuanetly i like challenges, so I come up with alot of harder ones.....
have fun Sweetie and enjoy.....
Hugs & kissies all round.
