My hubby is going to buy me a netbook but we don't know and neither does any employee at the store know if I can run my embrod. stuff on it. Hopefully someone can help. Thank you in advance for any info.

I am sorry but I can't help. I wonder if the store you are going to buy from will let you try it. What about going to a dealer that sells PEDesign and ask there or the help line. Windows 7 is so new. I didn't even know that it is out.

Unfort. no one at these stores know anything, it is so frust. I'm talking about Fry's and BestBuy that is all we have around here. We were going to buy the Dell Netbook w/Windows 7. They still have a couple left with XP windows. Everything I have says runs w/Xp. We contacted Brother because we have a Brother embro. machine, they weren't helpful either. We've been doing so much research but Windows 7 is tooooo new. But thank you for your input.

My laptop is still in repair, but the engineer just called me and told me that the new 7 coming out this week here will be compatible with XP.
Hopefully that is so. If you hear more please let us know.

I have a call into my son a friend of his is a comp. tech for the government hopefully he can tell me something. I will post whatever I find out here on Cute, just in case anyone else is interested.

Apparently Windows 7 is not the same as Vista. Right now I have Windows XP. I also want to purchase SewIconz they to according to their info descrip. it works with Windows XP and Vista no mention of Windows 7.

Cissie, did you upgrade to the pedesign 8. I have ped. 7 but still haven't gotten the hang of it to digitize. Is it worth upgrading.

Good question but I'm afraid that I cannot help you.
I would be glad when you find out when you post it here because I'm sure that more cuties have the same problem, at least I have. Thanks for asking :0)

An interesting question. I have vista on my laptop. I really don't like it. When I got it there were programs that did not work anymore. I even had to purchase a new version of Word because I had Word 2000 and that did not work on there.

I don't know if you can load any software on a netbook. I don't think they have a disc drive. That's what makes them so lightweight. You would have to download it from the internet or if you could get it on a flash drive.

I have microsoft office 2007, and all the prog. I have are run w/window xp. Right now we aren't sure if we should just get the windows xp while they still have them or get windows 7. I have never had any problems with XP. I just don't know. I will post whatever I find out. Thanks

Thank you! My daughter bought a lap top and she got a free download of Windows 7 with her laptop. We can't decide if she should get it or not.

We have decided to go with windows 7, ordering the Dell Netbook. I was able to contact sewiconz, he recommended I go w/windows 7 also.
