Ok, here are the directions and the link.
1. Go to the link, the map is called World Cuties
2. The first photo is the map, click on the "Add a Marker" icon, and you'll get the screen shown. In order to get your marker in the correct place, the best idea is to put an identifier you want, like "my house", or even better, your Cute screen name, because then your screen name will show up in the bubble when you put your mouse over the marker on the map. That would be easiest for all of us, but do what you think is best for you. Then put in your address in the address slot. You can use your street number if you want, it will place you exactly on the map. If you don't want it that exact, at least put your City, State (province, whatever) and Country. That will most likely put your marker at your post office in your town. Close enough. It's best NOT to click the marker onto the map yourself, it sometimes jumps to the wrong place! That's why I "x'ed" that part out on the photo. Then hit the "next" button to continue to the next screen.

Photo 2 is the next screen, where you can pick an icon to represent you. Pick any one you like, then go down and hit "next" again to go on to the third screen.

Photo 3 is the third screen, where you can change the icon if you picked one you don't like, you can add your website if you have one, give a description of your city, your house, your sewing machine, whatever you want. You can also add tags, it might be a good idea to add your Cute screen name as a tag. That way if one of us wants to find where you live, we can search by your screen name tag & find you. If you want to be found, that is, hee hee hee.

When you finish all the screens, hit 'finish' or 'next' or whatever that last button is, and your marker will be submitted. You won't see it right away, so don't do it again!! This is a moderated map, so I'll get an e-mail with your marker request, then I'll approve it and it will show up. I may not do it right away, so do please have patience. That's why I need you to identify yourself somehow as a member of Cute. If I can't identify someone, I will deny the request. Trying to make sure this map is ONLY for Cuties to keep us all safe and not get any 'advertising' on the map.

Once your marker is on the map, if you have made a mistake, YOU are the only one who can fix it. Once I have approved it, I can't do anything with it. You can go to your information, and there is an icon where you can delete the whole thing and start over. There's no way to 'edit' anything, you have to delete it and do it again correctly if you made a mistake.

I sure hope I covered all the bases here & y'all have fun with this! There is a place on Platial for 'help', it's down at the bottom of the screen. There's a section of FAQ's there, pretty easy to go thru if you're having trouble. If all else fails, ask me in a PM. I suspect if you have to do that, we're all in trouble, because I've told you all I know here in this post! Hee hee hee, we'll work it out somehow.

Hello Marji, This world cutie map is a great idea!
I put a Marker at the place of my home, but after, I have not well undestand what to write, and I have written the name of my house instead of my name,.. Now I do not know what to do to correct that, I send a PM to you.

What a lot of fun this is. I checked it out but dont' have time to login right now. Besides, Marji I didn't see you on it and we would overlap since we're only 10 miles from each other. I'll catch up to it later.

But the map is so tiny, and whole germany is covered by a skull ! symbol for the SS, that is no good choice I think.
Or am I too sensible with this?
Is there a possibilitiy to zoom, when more cuties will join?

Apparently whoever was hosting these maps closed the site down. The links don't work because it isn't there any more. I have not found another free mapping service that is easy to use. There is one, but it seems too difficult for anyone but expert computer users, and certainly too hard for those whose first language is not English. Sorry about that, if I find anything better I'll let you know. Hugs, Marji
