Can someone tell me how to convert a .pat design to .hus or .pes?

I've never seen .pat files, is that an embroidery format?

Pat files is a file from a Knit Software the name is
Design A Knit

Yes, I downloaded it last night from a freebie design advertised on this site: http://members.chello.nl/~r.olijve1/diversen.htm
It is a x-stitch design.

ok, it's a "knitting" design, but still, maybe someone out there knows how to convert these to an embroidery design.

that "someone" would have to digitize it with a cross stitch program after determining who the original artwork belongs to and then contacting them to see if it is possible for them to use it. Not a quick and easy answer, but I would look at Sudburyhouse or VCCS or just google for cross stitch sites.
