WOW...I finally made it to 1000 flowers this morning. I guess it took a while, I just don't have as much time to spend on the pc as I would like to. Life just gets to busy.

Congrats! Now on to the next 1000! I added 1* for you. They are fun to know that you have earned the prestigious flower! I call them my smiles because everytime I notice that I have added a few to my count, it makes me smile. It is just a simple little sign but I enjoy watching them grow! I am known in my family as having a brown thumb! There are very few things that I have planted that did not turn brown and die. I do not even like to get real flowers because I know that in just a few days I will be picking up the dead ones and trashing them. I kinda like these because they do not turn brown and fall on the floor for me to have to clean up. I also kinda like my flowers in a frame hanging on the walls or in a frame on the end tables. Alot of very beautiful flowers can come from the embroidery machines! I think the only flowers in my house are in frames except for the huge watering can full of fake sunflowers beside the hearth. I have never had a fire in the fireplace. I live in a double-wide and I am afraid to set a fire in the fireplace. I moved out of my home and to the Atlanta area to be close to my son and because of the wonderful Dr's in this area. I have nearly lost my legs once 6 yars ago and when they started flaring up again, I wanted some Dr's that knew what they were doing! That is the best decision I have ever made! I miss my home and family and friends but the medical experience has been wonderful compared to my last one!! As soon as I moved up here my son got married for the 1st time at 41 yrs old. He made me a MIL, a granny and a great granny all at once. I have 2 beautiful step grand-daughters and between them they have 3 small children. My daughter in law came with a whole new family. Of course, I do not get to see my son very often now! They are very busy with the daughters and their families plus her Mom, 80, who has had 4 heart attacks this year alone. She even flatlined once. My son adores children and these step grand babies will be the only children he will ever have and he enjoys every minute he gets to spend with them! I think they stay with Granny and Papa (my son) more than they stay with their Moms! He is in heaven right now with all the children around except when he gets off work frazzled and goes home and has a crying child in the house.One of the 2 boys was a very spoiled little boy with no discpline at all until the baby boy came along. My son put his foot down and has really changed the 3 yr. old. He does not act like the little monster that he was a year ago! He got a new Papa that takes up alot of time with him and a new little brother all about the same time just over a year ago. The oldest boy does not act like the same child! He is very pleasant to be around now! I think all it took was someone to take up time with him and love him. The oldest daughter has a 5 yr. old beautiful angelic acting and looking daughter that is the best behaved child I have ever been around. It truely is a blessing because she has been pushed from pillow to post with divorced parents both going in different directions all the time. Her Granny(myDIL)has just about raised her. She has done a great job! This child is beautiful, smart, and very well behaved! She is a true blessing and wonderful to have around! She started to school this year and Granny has had her less and less because her mom moved and she is in another school district now and too far away to just go by and pick her up anytime. My son did not leave home until he was 37 and is now living out his dream with a wonderful wife, step daughters and 3 wonderful grands! My thought on this is: Thank the Lord up above! He has brought home so many losers and really bad choices over the years and I was afraid that he would never find a decent lady. He just did not seem to be adle to pick out anyone that was decent(in my book). He always seemed to bring home the troubled ones with soooo many problems. I fell in love with my future DIL the first time I met her but would not voice an opinion in front of my son. I was afraid that if he knew I approved of her that it would make him go the other way! It was several months before I would say anything but "She's nice". When they came in to tell me that they were planning on getting married I said a silent Thank You Lord prayer! She is wearing my Mom's wedding ring that I guarded with my life for years! She cried when I offered it to them! It was not the Hope diamond but it is a beautiful 5 stone band that I had rebuilt after Mom passed away. She had worn it since 1946 and the gold was getting thin. She lost a diamond in it when I was about 10 and had it replaced and I could tell which one it was because it did not lay as smooth in the setting at the others. I also picked out her engagement ring and she very quietly thanked me because she loved it. He did not tell her I picked it out but she knew it was my taste. She still thanks me for it every once in a while. I gave her my cluster earrings that matched it to wear on their wedding day. The ring was small because she is so tiny and so were the cluster earrings. They looked like a set. I also gave her a plain gold band that I wore all the time on my pinkie finger. She has a cleaning business and I knew she would not want to put the diamonds in the cleaning stuff. She is the daughter I could never have. I kinda got sidetracked from flowers but that is where my mind took me this morning. She is our green thumb in the family! Have a great day and enjoy the flowers and the smiles that they bring to you!

I'm a relative newcomer - not even 100 flowers, yet;
so, to me, your 1000 is most impressive - well done! I hope you continue to be a member of this great community for many thousands of flowers to come.
