Yes, I'm afraid we often use up all of Cute's bandwidth so some of us will occasionally miss out.
It would help if people logged out of Cute when they go off to do other things.

Yes sometimes I get the same error message. I guess we all are trying to get on at the same time. Black Friday is the day in America when the stores that have operated at a loss are going from being in the "red" into the "black" and hope to make a profit. It is a crazy day for shopping. I never shop that day. Bargains are good but for me I do not like the crowds etc. the pushing and shoving and waiting hours in line.

I just learned what Black Friday meant from an quilting email I got. But you already got your answer. I often get that message in the afternoon (European) as that's about the time the new freebies are posted.
