Oh most definitely, but some people aren't following the guidelines. Health issues, prayer requests, birth announcements, etc. should ALL be placed in personals... If we had a moderator however, they could easily move incorrect posts in the appropriate place.

besides this tabs there's also the freebies tab, The place for posting free designs.sometimes they are posted in the other 2 tabs. and simplyrosie explained already where to use these for.*4u

I am quite new here, but I would like to give my 2 cents worth anyways. The tabs seem pretty self explanatory. Freebies I would gather is for free designs being this is an embroidery web site. Personal I presume for anything personal about yourself, family, or friends. Community well as I said this is an embroidery website so it goes to reason it should be embroidery related or maybe even a stretch to craft related.
Private (I haven't used this feature) I am guessing is like a delayed instant messenger. I too get confused because I see birthday wishes and anniversary wishes and I am thinking aren't those suppose to be in personal? As Rosie said a moderator would be able to correct these mis-posts.

The "Public" area is for posts concerning embroidery, sewing, looking for designs, help with machine problems, etc. Raels has always posted the birthday notices in Public as well, because of the wishes of the majority that she do that, it seemed the proper places for that birthday list.

ANY other personal requests, such as prayer requests, birth announcements, anniversaries, recipes, chit-chat goes in "Personal". I think there are newbies here who don't know how to use the site yet, maybe this is why it's happening. It't couldn't be that anyone is too lazy to make one more click to open the Personal tab.

The "Freebie" tab is for posting all the freebies you find on other websites. There should be no freebies posted in the "Public" tab. Occasionally, there seems to be a glitch in that tab, when someone posts in "Freebies" it ends up in "Public" for some reason. There's a little bug in the system. If anyone runs into this problem, I do wish they'd contact me by private mail, we'll see what we can do about it.

The "Private" tab is for sending an e-mail to one of the members privately, and only you and the member you choose can see it. There is a tutorial for using this tab, and for many other aspects of this site as well. Go to the blue word "tutorial" on the left of your screen, look for my avatar, and you might find a tutorial for something you don't know how to do. If you need a tutorial and there isn't one, just ask me, I'll be glad to do one, maybe not right away, because I'm still not doing too well. But I'll get to it.

Thanks to everyone who uses the tabs, it makes a big difference, makes things so much easier to find, questions so much easier to answer.
