Wow, Marie, happy St. Nicholas Day! What a nice gift from your son, and how hard it will be to choose! I, too, love Amazing Embroidery, because it is a sister site to Cute. To see all the designs, you must just go page by page, because there is no way to 'sort' them at that site. But there are gorgeous designs, and quite a few alphabets, too, and the style of design is much like the style at Cute.
Another option is Designs by SiCK. Again, sort thru ALL the pages, they have an incredible number of sets to choose from. I have gotten some specific sets from there, usually on the $1 sales. There is a huge variety, and many more things for children and babies, also a great many different alphabet fonts to choose from. The only drawback you'll find there is that using so many different digitizers, some of the sets are not as well done as others. The quality is not as consistent as here at Cute and Amazing. I got actually one set that I simply used as artwork and re-digitized. But that's my luck, hee hee hee, if there was one not-so-good set, that's the one I'd buy, hee hee hee.
Another site I would HIGHLY recommend is Artistic Thread Works. Holly Pike is an excellent digitizer, and they have a huge catalog of designs! They also have forums that are for members only, with a huge amount of help for embroidering and also help with your computer and machine. Larry Pike, Holly's husband, is the webmaster and computer guru, there is a lot of information and help there, which we all need with these computerized machines. They are just extremely nice people. Again, I don't have a membership there because there are a lot of children type designs, and I don't do any of that kind of sewing. I was a member there for a while though, and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else. You can look thru their catalog as well, and it is by category.
Holy's best friend and fellow digitizer is Nita from Nita's Thread Nest, they also have a membership. Nita is also an excellent digitizer, and her designs are a little different from Holly's. But that would still be a good one to look into.
I'm sure others will have more suggestions for you, and it depends of course on what kinds of designs you use most. If you make a lot of things for babies and kids, look for those kinds of designs. I'm not a member a lot of places where I like some of the designs, because so many of them are for children. Find a place where most of the designs are the kind you will actually use. And have great fun looking and deciding, how wonderful for you!!!
