Family we have talked alot about Metallic thread. I was wondering does it work in the bobbin, like for FSL. Thanks

I have used it and it worked beautifully for me. I have used Coats and Clark, Sulky threads

What is your machine? My machine does not like Sulky thread. Thanks. H&*

I use a normal embroidery thread that matches the metallic colour for the bobbin -
Have not tried to put metallic on the bobbin.

This is what I have been doing. I wanted to try the FSL with the thread that is why I wondered about the bobbin thread. H&*

Sally, I use Metallic thread in the bobbin with my FSL all the time - have never had any trouble with it in the bobbin, either. *4U

Shirlene, do you use the bobbin with the pink dot or the green dot? What bobbin thread do you use? H&*

I have been told never to use metallic thread in bobbins that goes for embroidery or sewing machines. the thread shreds and clogs up your bobbin casing. Not a good idea as I found out after I damaged my machine.

Who told you this? Did they say that it depended on the brand of metallic thread? Thanks. H&*

My Janome dealer told me this, be careful if your machine is under warrenty and you damage your bobbin case because you caused the problem you might not be covered for damages. Metallic thread shreds and gets caught up in the mechanisim.

Yes, I too have used the metalic threads in the bobbin without problems, on the contrary, it's the top thread that always gives me the problems LOL

What trouble do you have with the top thread. I know that many top thread problems are caused by bobbin problems. H&*

Could you all tell us what machine you have that works with metallic thread in the bottom and which ones don't? Anyone using a Bernina?
