It is better to use the fibrous one than the stuff that looks like saran wrap because it will poke through. We call it H2O gone and I think others call it solvy but not sure . Hope this helps.

the only thing that works for me is 2 - 3 layers of h20 gone and 1 layer or organza. a little bit more trouble but looks good.

The one that I use looks like vilene that you iron on when sewing, but it dissolves in water. I use 3 layers and put one down, then turn the other piece so that the top piece is on the left of the 1st piece and then the last piece the top must be at the bottom. All that it means is that the grain must not all be on the same place. Hope that makes sense!

Hi I use Badge master. It is very thick and you only need one layer. It washes away when you are done. You can also place some tulle on top of your wash away when you hoop it. Sew as usual and when you was it away the tulle remains in the design vertually undectable. Hope this helps. I get badgemaster from OESD. Suzanne

First b sure you have the same thread in bobbin u have on top. I always hoop 2 layers of the WSS. Do not use the clear plastic type WSS. Use the kind that you cannot see through. It looks more like fabric. Be sure u have a nice sharp needle. slow your machine to the lowest speed. Now try it & see how it does. If you are doing all this & still not having good luck then it may b the design itself. Good luck FSL is really not that hard to do & is a pleasure to turn out. Lillian *

I use the Avalon plus which is non woven and the other avalon on top. Some times I use th both non woven if I have a thicker thing to make. Look at the page were you have the lace design from. They tell you what needle you need and again for the open I use the 75 needle and for the thicker ones I use a 90 needle. Chang needles often )8 ours sewing or so.

beutelhexe, sounds like you are using a WSS - however the one for a topping - rather than for LACE - you should use the WSS that has a fabric look to it - it is fibous and the names vary - I use two layers - the same thread in the top and bobbin - keep the hoop tight around the WSS and stitch away - hope to see you LACE in projects soon - always invest in the best supplies that you can and you will enjoy the outcome. *4U

I use the thick wash away for lace and you need only one layer. Ask in your embroidery shop where they sell the machines. That is where I buy mine. Good luck
