I'm guessing because I have not done one yet. You might try the filigree alphabet at designinstitches.
I'll check later to see what else I might have. Maybe someone would know if redwork alphas would work well.

A simple thing to remember, the less dense or number of stitches the better it is going to stitch out. any design can b used but it has to b of low density actually the fewer stitches the better. *

Another suggestion. Use outline or redwork. THEN color in with chalk pastels. So pretty. Pastels are very easy to use..I actually use a Q tip to apply them to my scrapbook pages. Believe it or not, it doesn't smear!!

welcome to Cute. Don't know about cards. I am sure someone will help. That is what is so great about Cute, someone is willing to help on any subject.

I like to purchase Christmas bordered Christmas photo cards (on sale after Christmas) and embroider on a stabilized fabric, cut it a little larger than the photo size, and insert it for the photo. Sometimes I need to put a touch of glue on the fabric to keep it in place. I have been doing this for about 15 years with great success - and many compliments. Density is not a problem. Just use a design sized to fit. I have done some cardstock but prefer the photo cards.
