There are some "buttons" in the lace section of this site that embroider just like any other design. But I'm not sure that is what you are asking?

yes these are the buttons that I will try. I was just not sure about what fabric and stabilizers to choose?
They are free standing lace. To get that effect you need to stitch the design on water soluble stabiliser (wss) which comes in two types: clear 'plastic' film and a variety that looks like it's woven - use the latter one.
