I believe pat files can be read with the free viewer from PC Stich.

WIN.RAR is a zipped file, and not necessarily anything to do with embroidery designs.

You use WIN.Zip and/or WIN,Rar programs to zip together all sorts of things; e.g. picture files, multiple documents and you can also zip together many design files.

You should think of it::: as folding a whole lot of different clothes, making them as small as you can, then squeezing them all into a small bag, which you then ZIP closed. That is all WIN.Rar and WIN.Zip do.

I have not heard of embroidery files with the suffix. x st which would normally just be an abbreviation for Cross Stitch

Data-Stitch has a suffix of .STX

>Tajima is .DST

Pfaff has one .SPX

Sunstar has .SST

Perhaps you could forward the file to me and I can identify it for you. Sorry this is the only thing I can think of.
