Hi Cuties I ask an advice about water soluble topping

1)must it be put in the hoop, or just above
2)What brand do you use, and where do you buy it, the cheapest if possible?

When we use water soluble toppings for embroidery on top of towels or fleece, we always put it in the hoop. We have never tried using a basting stitch with it so I don't know if that would work or not. We have used a variety of sources to purchase it - from our local fabric store to online stores and ebay.

I use a basting stitch because it has to go on top of the towel or fleece and usually they are not being hooped.

I usually pin or baste a piece on top of the towel (or whatever) I'm embroidering. I buy the stuff at an large Dutch embroidery studio at wholesale price.

I use it on top of hoop, then baste it. It is usually called topping WWS. I have bought mine at Joann's with my coupon. I do not have need for it except on towels. H&*

I have found that it works best when hooped, but I have also hand basted it on after hooping, too. I do a lot of sewing with fleece, so I always use it for that. (that's when I hoop). I bought mine at my dealer's place where I bought my machine, but I don't know if she sells online, sorry.
