My Mom just wrote me an email since it's hard for me to talk here at work... Please keep my Grandmother in prayer... for those of you that have been on CUTE for a while, you all know my precious GM as Queen Esther... she is truly the love of my life.
Just got an update on Mammina. In addition to the infection that I told you about this morning (she's referring to an intestinal infection), she now also has aspiration pneumonia. Because she’s so weak and her breathing is shallow, she doesn’t cough hard enough to clear her lungs. That’s probably why her cough sounded like a gurgle yesterday. They have started her on some big gun antibiotics in the IV.
This could be very serious. Pray that the antibiotics take care of the pneumonia that has just started. I’ll keep you posted!

OOOOhhhhh Teri U know how I feel about Queen Esther, it's like she is one of my own. U know I'll ask God to look after her. This is one of the problems that plague Nursing Homes & the elderly(of which I am one) when they get ill & weak just a sip of water may get in their lungs & they r so weak they cannot cough it back up & 9 times out of 10 their gag reflex isn't working properly like ours so this makes it even worse. Just one small crumb can irritate the bronchus or lung ultimately causing pneumonia. My prayers r with u , your mom & first & foremost Queen Esther. Much love Lillian

You may recall I mentioned the unbelievable resemblance between Queen Esther and my own dear Mum in Law (Jeanie) and each time you posted a picture it gave Jeanie back to me for a little while, now this sad news has been like losing my dear MIL all over again.
