My daughter put a sweater on my 4 yr old grand this morning. She looked at my daughter and said "Mommy it doesn't have amy pockets." My daughter said, "no I guess it doesn't." A few mins later she said, " I know I will ask Grandma to put some pockets on it for me!" Then she called me and asked if I would, hmmm maybe this belongs in community, how in the world would I put pockets on a knit sweater?

What a sweet little child. I expect you can do it. Perhaps that is exactly what those little faux pocket designs could be used for doing; by embroidering those onto prewashed fabric, and them sewing them directly onto the sweater, you have one of a kind pockets.
Good luck,
*4u!

faux pocket designs? I don't recall ever seeing such a thing. I may need some help looking for them!

Sew them on u goose! LOL U can knit or crochet some & sew on, If u want them to b yarn ,cut pkts from an old discarded sweater. Sew around prior to cutting out to prevent raveling( a square, rectangle whatever shape you choose) then cut out & sew on sweater. I also buy socks to match, cut off cuffs, sew to sweater sleeves to make them longer or just to put cuffs on them. My husband will not wear a long sleeved knit shirt unless the cuffs fit tightly around his wrists, so I have done that little trick often. Fabric pockets can be cut out, finished & then sewed on the little sweater also. Lillian *

Well I am hoping that she will forget this one request, she has so many lined up for me! In case she doesn't I will have to look at the sweater and see if I have a matching yarn and yes crochet them and stitch them on. Ty

Ain't they Grand. My Grand kids think I can do anything too. Got some good advice here. You have lots of options. Please post a picture when you have it done...as I know you will be putting pockets on her sweater!!!

If I do end up making pockets for it, perhaps it was just idle words from a 4 yr old (fingers crossed) I will most certainly post the pic. TY
