I guess they don't want me to check out their designs. There are lots of other sites to buy designs from. I will keep my pop up blocker turned on and go else where for designs.

This is only because they want you to see their advertisers pop ups (they may get cheaper web hosting if they allow advertisers' pop-up)
Another reason is because they use pop-ups for you to view their designs in close-up.
It really is only a bad thing if they have "DUBIOUS" advertisers.
What can be potentially much worse is COOKIES.
Some sites want to add a cookie to your computer, in most cases this is innocent and simply allows them to recognise you and makes their pages load faster for you.
BUT, in other cases it will add a tracking cookie to your pc and this is an invasion of privacy as they track your internet habits and that increases the likelihood of you receiving spam.
GOOGLE CHROME WEB Browser and FIREFOX Web Browser are notorious for this and Chrome will even report if you have any 'unregistered'/'unlicensed' programs on your computer.

You can leave your pop up blockers turned on but still allow certain sites that you trust.There are some patchwork sites that download their free blocks via pop ups and sites like mine that have automatic downloads, via pop ups, once the designs have been paid for and verified by PayPal.I assure you, there is nothing underhand about that.
