Can quilting thread be used for embroidery? The thread is 100% egyptian cotton. Thank you

I use 100% polyester embroidery thread 40wt

I agree with Science :) Then again, why don't you just try it just for fun on something small and see what it looks like? I like Madeira thread 40 wt

I would worry that the thread being 100% cotton that when laundered the thread might shrink and make the design pucker. I would definitely test it on scrap fabric and the wash and dry it to see if it is ok.
