This is not easy to answer without knowing her likes and dislikes. How about acouple butterflies, dragonflies, or ladybugs. Birds are always nice. If you are putting it on the pocket just remove the pocket from bottom to top, leave it attached at the top on both sides. lift the pocket out away from the shirt. Hoop your stabilizer then glue, or baste your pocket to the stabilizer, center your design on the pocket and embroidery. After the design is on the pocket you can stitch it back to shirt. Hope this helps. H&*

I didn't know the design went on the pocket. Silly me!! I thought it went above the pocket on left side. As you can tell, I have never done any either.

She wants it as a topper, thankfully I do not have to take the pocket apart. I just have never done anything like this before and have been looking through all the designs I have and checking on line for something, just lost as what to put on it LOL Thank you for the info.

What are her interests? I have done a couple for my husband's aunt, but did something that she was interested in - frogs, and then stitched a small frog on the back of the shirt - to guard her back. There are so many out there, and some are so very nice. Hope you can find what you want.

I can put anything I want on them, this is for a nun she is a wonderful person but I know she does not want a cross or anything like that. I had mentioned flowers to her and she was ok with that. just have never done one yet myself.

I have never stitched any. Although I can remember seeing some cute ones. Be sure and post what you decide on, so we all can see.

I did some scrolls on my denim pants back pocket and it came out nice. I unfortunately did not add the website that I got it from, so cannot tell you where its from. Hope you find something.

There are many sites with pocket toppers, peekers and other pocket designs. I couldn't find any freebies today. Look in embroiderylibrary.com, omasplace.com, adesignistitches.com, artisticthreads.com and Betty sunset threads. Good luck and have fun

You can use almost any design you have as long as it's not wider than the pocket. I mark the top of the pocket, pick the pocket loose on the sides so I can flip it down out of the way. Then put my design so it looks like it's coming out of the pocket. If you are going to put it ON the pocket, I also pick it loose so I don't sew the pocket shut in case she wants to use it as a pocket! I did one with a sea theme & had sea weeds coming out of the pocket with fish on the cuff of the shirt. Looked nice.

Thank you all for the info. What is the height you would use if the pocket is 6 in's wide I don't want it to look stupid. I know if I do a good job I will get more to do, this is a potenial for a lot of work. So I want it to be perfect.

Sunflowers look nice on denim. Can't recall the sites, but I've seen some nice sunflower topper designs which appear to be growing out of the pocket.

Like the idea of 'things' shooting out of the top of the pocket! You could use anything that would fit.

I did one with a little giraffe sticking his head out. Or some bees would be cute.
