my Brother 1200 seems very fussy about the thread it will stitch.
Bought a big spool of bobbin thread and the machine will not stitch it. Here is my question. What type of thread do other brother machinists use, & where do they purchase the thread. would like to be able buy single colours of a thread.

I have a Galaxie 3000 and use all sorts of threads on it with no problems. My friend who has the same machine often has problems. I buy thread from all over the place. The main sources have been my dealer and I get Isacord from him and then I have a huge assortment of thread I got from ebay which is Isafil, but I also use a lot of unknown brands. Hope you can get what you want, it is a brand I have not heard of

I have 3 Brother machines, PC8500, 900D lighter and can carry to class and the Innovis 2500D and I also use all types of thread such as Maderia, Sulky etc. I use prewound bobbins and they work fine.

Have you tried spotlight here in south aust... i do know that new managers took over and they have stopped alot of things in different stores like embroidery and sewing classes etc. which is a shame. anyway to answer your question i use QA ( some of as some break alot eg the black i use them for bobbin fill i use the white for this too its cheaper) La sarta and if its a special colour i use madiera.. you can have your machine tension set for the cotton you use the most thats what the guy who services mine does hes gr8. so try QA, La sarta, airplane from embroidery source ( had no probs with) or madiera ( bit more expensive) good luck Ash ps i have an innovis 1500D

You are all wonderful for offering to help me, thank you so much. The fsl place names and placemats are to be in silver, white and burgandy, to match the dress. Making fsl butterlfies to place on tables and some fsl bolws for the almonds and whatever else Lara needs to make this her special day.Guess I will need a fair few spools.
