As of today the Drs say he is ok physically, but will be in the hospital for at least 3 days. He was diagnosed as Bi Polar at the age of 35 and the Drs have not been able to find a medication that doesn't make him like a zombie, so he won't take his meds. He has 3 kids who are devastated by this illness, as well as his wife who in my opinion is a saint. He was so out of control last night when she called an ambulance that the police had to handcuff him and threatened to tazer him if he didn't get in the ambulance.
I'm sorry to run on. I just don't know how to deal with him. I know the power of prayer and although we have all been praying for a solution for years it doesn't seem to have worked. I'm hoping that an Army of Prayer Warriors will help. His name is Joe and he is 46 yrs old.

Thank You Lillian, just spoke to my Dad. He talked to Joe this afternoon. He is still in the hospital, on suicide watch. The Drs have adjusted his meds so hopefully it's a step in the right direction

Yes it is. We now believe my Mother was bi-polar before it was a well know condition. She spent most of her adult life on Valium. Thank you for your prayers.

Oh God, he is so young! I 'm thinking how hard it's to his wife and kids. You used the correct word: devastated to them all. I can do nothing here. But one thing I can do, I'll pray for his health and peace of mind, and God give wisdom to the doctors, in order they prescribe THE medication, that will make your brother fell great and well.

Be assured of my prayers on Joe's behalf, and for his family. I have a 34 year old daughter who is Bi Polar so I understand too well what you are all going through. MaryJo, I am so sorry. How devastating that must be.I will pray for all of you and especially Joe to be released from the torment that he is facing. I pray that the person who will help him most will be brought into the picture and be an advocate for the treatment that Joe needs.

I am so sorry Maryjo. I will certainly pray for your brother and his family , all of you. It sounds like that right now, prayer is what the family needs. I am having to deal with something very similar to Bi-polar and if diagnosed by someone besides his Heart Dr, could be what is really wrong with him. Since his heart attack and going back to work, he goes from being nice to being sooo angry at the least thing. I am actually beginning to get to the point that I am scared of what he might do at any point and time. He does not feel bad physically but can no longer control his mood swings. I have even thought about making an appt. with his heart Dr. just so I can talk to him. He takes NO calls over the phone.
It is not just the patient but all those around him that suffers when a family member is having mental or physical problems with no resolution. May the Lord find his way to let him have peace of mind. I am so glad that he has a loving family that will try to help him! Hugs to you, Linda

You will have my prayers in return. It sounds to me like you definitely need to find some answers. If I were you I'd talk to the family Dr., explain the issues he is having and get his advice on how to proceed. No one should ever have to live in fear of what a loved one may do when they lose control. Sometimes it is as simple as adjusting or changing their medication. You take care as we pray together.
