I wonder if this Mylar will do any damage to our machines after a certain period of time

You treat like solvy, just lay on top of design and it tears away. You don't have to cut it like an applique. The Mylar has the iridescence look of metallic but just use regular embroidery thread.

I think it's used to stuff special gift bags and I have seen it shredded and put in Easter baskets. You can find it in the gift wrap section with the gift wrap paper. I bought mine a Party City.

Nice little tutorial you posted katy. Also to answer Joannes Q about damage to the machine No it is the same as stitching over solvy it is only plastic cellophane as Katy had said.
