I've been around here for a few months now and I'm fascinated by the variety of different projects people post. I like to embroider clothes and bags mostly and I have to say that alphabets and towels do not figure highly on my list! However the designs on this site and the DBC certainly cater for every taste. I have learned some new vocabulary as well as I had no idea what some of the baby items were!

Vive la difference and keep educating me.

I love to embroider just about anything that comes to mind. I include coasters, placemats, tablerunners, bags, blankets etc. You get the idea. And alphabets work great on bags. I used the embossed alphabet on a tote bag and it looks great. I just embroidered a letter from the firebird alphabet for a friend who was very happy. Welcome to Cute and keep on embroidering.

Hi Sue, I like to do anything that I can give as gifts. FSL bookmarks are among my favorites. I just finished making quilts for my brother and sister. Now I think I'm going to do a tablecloth for myself. Another favorite of mine is doing embroidery on greeting cards. I do it right on the cardstock and they are beautiful. We're so glad to have you as part of the Cute family. Happy Stitching!***Marjorie

hello Sue, I like embroider anything to make gift, so I have made almost nothing for me!
I embroider very often on T-shirt for my children and grandchildren. also often on bath towel (monograms or names), or borders, and on kitchen towels( often redwork to have light designs on it). I like gift for baby newborn : onesie or bib...
Just now, I make embroideries for the wedding of tow of my grandsons, I have already made a dozen of kitchen towels for one, and I embroider a cover of duvet for each. When all that will be finished, I want to try FSL bookmarks, doilies and bowls, but I have not dare yet.

I think that I prefer FSL doilies - but we can only have so many of those, but of course, I give most of my thngs away. I too like to do ITH projects. We are truly varied in our designs on the site, and it is good to see everything that others do.

I'd have to say lace and towels. But shoot, I'll embroider anything that is sitting still. :-)

You now reminds me of the lady from whom my husband bought my machine. She apparently told him I will love embroidery so much he will need to keep an eye on his underwear. If he sits still too long I might just grab that too. Little did she know!!
by simplyrosie 19 Apr 2010
LOL! Exactly! I'm not that bad, but close. :-)

In answer to "eleen" what she said about embroidering on her husbands underwear reminds me of when I first got my machine and I asked my daughter-in-law if she would like her knickers embroidered with Monday, Tuesday etc., She said "No, January, February"..........

Sue, I love your question - I do have a love of lace - Hehehe! I bet no one on CUTE knew that one. I am like the others - I love all embroidery. Especailly anything that you can make in a hurry and have as a gift for someone special - so that means - lots and lots of embroidery to keep on hand. I just handed out a lovely little angel to a lady that helped me put Rick's wheel chair into my car - I was exhausted and was having a leg cramp and couldn't lift it up - so I gave her an angel - and told her she was one and I wanted her to have one - the look in her eyes - was enough of a thank you for me - to know that she cared for another enough - to help. Keep on stitching.

I've got 4 or 5 of the little makeup bags that Macy's gives out every now and then. I keep thinking they would be cute with an initial on them for gifts--maybe I'll go make one now :)

Hi Sue, I am a lot like a lot of these people, anything not sitting still gets embroidered. My favorite things are childrens clothes, I make sweatshirts and emb on the front and then emb something matching on the sleeve. I have 2 granddaughters, so everything I make for them has something on it.

Well what do I like to sew - alphabets get sewn in different ways. I seem to make a number of cushions which are usually made as presents. I have also sewn onto towels that have been used as wedding presents. I dont have much time to sew and am going through a quiet sewing phase at the moment. The sewing room needs a good tidy up too. I have 3-4 ring cushions to make as presents. There is a huge piles of embroidered fabric waiting for me to make into ?

embroidery is an embelishment and my greatest joy is in sewing it self and if needs embelshment then it certainly gets it. but certainly all items need a label and they are embroided. I have so so many gunna projects that i just can't keep up with them all.

The favorite project is usually the one I am currently working on. Some of my favorites have been quilt blocks, eye glass cases, paper dolls, pin cushions, clothing itms for the grand kids to mention a few. I like things that are quick

Applique was a favourite of mine even before I bought my embroidery machine.
