Yikes! I just took a count...I have 16 machines, including 2 sergers, and only one embroidery machine. I told my husband I need a backup embroidery machine, but he doesn't agree. What say you all?

I only have five. I learned on a treadle. Boy, does that date me or what!!

2 nice newer sewing machine brothers 1 heavy 1 lighter for classes when I was doing them.
can't forget my sisters kid toy sewing machine could never figure that thing out to actually make it stitch possible not all there (like me for having so many machines around and can't work my VCR player) Thats it I think, to many OH Well....

(Just gave my MIL Kenmore to a friend-it was also in a cabinet and I needed the room.
My Athena 2000, one of the first computerized, but she's still in the cabinet which is a nice sturdy one which I now have in my room under my emb mach

all my machines are Janome. I have a mystyle 16, 6600 Proffessional and an industrial machine for sewing.A memorycraft 8000 and a 300E, for embroidery and 2 sergers ( one with white thread and one with black thread )because I am too lazy to change threads

WELL, I GUESS I AM MACHINE POOR.....I only have my Brother 4500D and I just bought a little Singer simple more for straight stitching..........trying to pay off my debt before I go for the long arm computerized quilting machine..(my new toy to be)...deanna

Guess I'm in the "poor" category, too. I have a Brother machine for just simple sewing; a Singer serger machine; and my Singer embroidery machine. Three in all -- but that's all the space I have! :-)

-- I am longig for a long-arm...but would keep the mid-arm for piecing

1 huskylock 936--love it, but would like 2 more, one for 3 thread serging, one for 4 thread (with specialty feet), and a third for coverstitch

1 Brother basic sewing machine, my first when I was 16, it is now used by my children when they have to sew

1 old old, straight stitch, electric machine. I guess I don't really need this one.

When I got to eight spinning wheels I had to cull them, I now have only four. Guess I'd better not get an eighth sewing machine

I have a Kenmore sewing machins ,a Singer feather weight a little Jem light weigt .a Brothers sewing machine , a Sserger and a Brothers embroidery machine I think 6 is enough right now they all work fine. Lenamae

I have 8 featherweights, I collect them and then have them sent to Desk Dave Featherweight company for reconditioning. I have a purple and turquoise one. I also have a 1951 centenial, a singer featherweight freearm, a white and a beige one and a black scroll face and striped face. Then I have my mom's old 1946 Pfaff that I learned on, a White hand crank, my 2012 E Pfaff and my Pfaff Creative 2.0. 1 pfaff serger, and a childs singer. I guess that makes 14.

I have 2 singers, 1 is an old 1900 treadle, the other a knee "peddle". 1 janome o/locker, 1 janome sewing machine and 1 much loved janome embroidery machine All of which work :)

Only three, all Janome. One of them is an embellishing machine - I haven't heard anyone mention them yet.
I learned on a hand machine and never tried a treadle.
I do have a knitting machine as well.

OK, I don't hold a candle to most of you. I have a 1930s Singer. The rest are Bebylocks: an Evolve serger, an Ellissimo and my multineedle BMP. I would have loved to keep my Ellegante, but have no room left. Why Babylocks? I love the jet aire threading on the serger and the others are easy to use, work horses and stitch beautifully. And using the pes format means lots of choices in designs.

I have my ever trusty Kenmore sewing machine (can't recall how old she is but still going strong) my other faithful friend Kenmore 2/3/4D Serger, that has done many a mile on square dance ruffles and gores, Hobbylock 799, 5 thread also great for those ruffles gathering and sewing in one...my Brother ULT 2001,(soon to be my sister's when I get it delivered to her) and now my new baby Brother Innova 2800D, love them all ....x0x0x0x

I have a
1928 Singer (treadle) complete with original instruction manual;
my mother's 1953 straight stitch Elna - did a lot of free hand embroidery on that one;
my aunt's 1959 Bernina - with zigzag and other 'useful' stitches;
my own 1963 Elna supermatic - with various cams - still in use now and again
and a number of more recent ones including a 1991 Bernette serger and a Brother overlock.

I have 4.
A 50 or 60 year old Singer Featherweight which still sews like a charm.) My Mom taught me to sew on this machine when I was about 7.
A 30 year old Husqvarna that my DH bought me when my daughter was born (I still love this machine and still sew on it when I am embroidering).
A Husvarna Designer I, which I adore.
And last but not least, a Janome serger. A wonderful little workhorse that just keeps going and going.

Singer 221 which I just bought from a lady for $25.00. She knows they hold value, they found it in a garage and just didn't want it. Case has no bottom so is not good to keep but machine runs a bit sluggish so needs lubricated and a little TLC. Other than that it is fine. Will tune up today. Just too cute not to have.
I want a big sewing room that I can set all my machines up at once but may never happen.
That makes 9. I had no idea. Hubby and I want the Brother 620 but can't afford it since he is retired and I work part time. But I can still dream, can't I?? lol

so that is 8+6+2+2 so that is 18...and I have 4 sergers, 3 regular machines 2 embroidery and 1 hemmer set up all the time. Do I win? LOL

Oh, not so much. I have an old one from my mother-in-law, I use it as a table in our hallway. Another old one, I started sewing on it, now it is in the attic, in case that my other machine doesn't work. Then I have a normal sewing machine with a little computer in it. I have a Pfaff Overlock and a Janome 350e for embroidery. That makes 5. I think that is not much, or?

My turn.Uh oh...1 treadle,( a White, it was my aunt's) 2 sergers,(both Singers, one a 3 thread,the other ,a 4 thread),1 older singer(given to me),my mom's Kenmore,my first machine I got when I was 17, a Baycrest and a workhorse,My trusty Singer that my DH bought me,a Brother PE300S( sews & embroiders),My new Brother770, and last,my Pfaff felting machine! (also 2 "baby" machines,but they don't count) So that makes 10!

I'm having a blast reading all the responses. Now I don't feel guilty about the number of machines I have---

I had my first sewing machine in 1954, , my husband offers it to me when I was just married, because he thought it would be useful when we will have children. In this time in france we do not buy many clothes, it was very expensive, I made much mending, and fix the clothes of a children to give it to the next. This machine made only the straight stitch, but it has been very useful during many years. For the 25 brthday of wedding, my husband has offered to me a new machine: it made stitch zigzag, and it was very convienent. When he became ill in 2002, he wanted to offer to me a embroidery machine, but he passed in 2003 without having the possibility to make to me that gift
There is 5 years now that i had the possibility to buy my embroidery machin: husqvarna designer 1, and it is for me as a gift of my husband, so you see I love my machine, and each time that I use it I think to him

I think I am in the poor catagory. I only have 3. A kenmore sewing machine, Janome serger and my Janome 10001 that I use for embroidery. I would love to get a Janome MB4 but the are quite expensive so I guess it is only a dream. Hugs. Mary

I only have 8 at this time! I gave one to my daughter and one to my granddaughter, I have my Janome single needle, my Brother overlok (serger), my Viking 4X4 emb, and my new Brother 750D emb machine. I use all those, then I have my Moms, My DH's Moms, and one of my old ones that don't always work. Then my Singer Overlok. So-o-o-o I guess I have my share!!! Hugs, Judy

I have an old sewing machine but still working very well.
it is in the house of my son and daughter in law.Not for her use, she can not sew. But every time as I visit them, they ask me to repair something of them or the grandkids. So I left my machine there to sew the repairjobs.

In my own home i have my first sewing-embroiderymachine, a janome but it works only with bought cards.so I use this one only for sewing.
I also have a lock machine and my brother embroidery machine.that´s it.

WOW,some of you are very fortunate to have so many. I envey those of you with old machines. My mother had a treadle machine that I would have loved to had but somehow when I was in college it was not more.
I only have 4 machines: 1 serger, 1 Viking Sapphire, 1 Viking SE, and a Scandinavia 300 that wasn't worth a trade in(which can embroidery)when I up-graded. The 300 replaced a 1975 Viking that wasn't worth fixing.

I only have 3 sewing machines all Husqvarnas. I have kept my old one from over 25 years ago just in case my Designer 1 has to go in for a check up. I gave my first Husqvarna quilting machine to my daughter Amy along with the embroidery attachments. And I have 2 overlockers (given 1 to Amy too!)

I can't believe how many "sewdoctor" has WOW!

I have four, 2 sergers, one sewing-embroidery(Brother) and my viejita(little old lady Kenmore), that's the way I called her, she is just for sewing. I used to have one more only embroidery Brother 180D I gave it as a gift to my sister in-law.Well, sewdoctor I think you are the winner.

Singer Futura -the embroidery part will not work & I refuse to pay to get it fixed .Lucky to do a dozen designs before trouble hits ,what a white elephant.Keeping it to use when the Janome dies & the diamond is embroidering.
Janome 8000 still working but somethings don't anymore but once the board goes its dead .They stopped making the parts after about 10 yrs.
Singer treadle that was a Christmas present in the 50's my first machine,usually used as a table for my overlocker. It still works ,had to get a new belt last year.
Bernette overlocker 20 years old .Hoping to by a new one soon because of the problems I am having with one of the tensions but it has done a loads of work.

Brother Innovis 6000D Quattro...Brother Innovis 4000D...Brother BM 2600...Babylock Imagine Serger/Overlocker...Singer Featherweight freearm...antique hand-operated beautifully decorated larger old machine, don't remember the brand and a collection of several antique chainstitch toy and real smaller sewing machines which are in different parts of the house so I don't know how many...And as someone was counting pleaters I have one of those also.

And since someone else mentioned it, I have a 40 y.o. knitting machine under one of the beds but can't remember the brand.

I am supposed to be getting another Elna Xquisite 2, from the States, but details haven't been finalised for the voltage conversion yet.

You probably all think I'm mad getting another XQ2, after the problems I've had with my favourite baby, but I believe the first one I got was jinxed from the start and i just KNOW the one I am waiting on is going to be "the best".

Also 4. My sewing machine and overlocker was both replaced and like many I can not part form the old ones. Perhaps I'll allow my daughter if they are interested to work on the old ones. They are still a bit small for that now.

I am sewing machine poor apparently. I have an old circa-1926 beautiful treadle Singer which works, and it belonged to my grandmother. I have a plain model Singer which my husband bought when my old Singer Golden Touch N Sew died after 30 years. And I have a Singer Futura CE-350 combo machine, which embroiders beautifully. I'm hoping for a serger this year sometime before I retire (while I can still afford it!) I'd love to have a Husqvarna Designer to do much larger designs. But I will never be able to afford anything like that, so I just dream.

Wow, the cuties have a collection of wonderful machines!! I have a Singer Futura embroidery and regular stitch machine, which I absolutely love, a Brother PE 150 Embroidery only, and a Brother regular sewing machine. I had a Serger but did not master it, hmmm, can't teach an old dog new tricks I guess.

also have an old singer treadle machine, it is in it's original cabinet which has ram heads on the draws, and it does work, I use to have to sew on it when I was a child, I would visit my aunt and the only way she allowed you to sew at her house was if you didn't use elec, LOL
I just purchased my first serger it is an overlock and coverstitch machine have never used the cover stitch yet have to learn LOL
well that's all I have but I do want more, been googling the industiral machines would love a 6 or more needle embroidery, am always checking out industrial machines since most are made for specific jobs they would be great to own, have been offered to purchase a couple from a women in my town that she got when the factories closed. Would love to have them but it is the money LOL

I only have three - not as many as some but as many as I can manage to use with any frequency! I have a brother embroidery, a baby-lock quilting, and an old Bicor machine (that was all I had at one time) as a back-up. Not sure I could go very long without one of them to play with!

I have 2 embroidery Brother180D Babylock Esante. Bernina sewing machine,Singer serger.The last 2 are old and I will not give them up for anything.

I have a Singer Merrittlock Serger, I own a smaller serger and have forgotten what brand it it because it took legs and went home with my son on one of his trips by my house to fix a pocket in his work pants. Thanks for reminding me! I have a New Home that was one of the first I had seen that had alot of small built-in embroidery designs. It is a regular sewing machine but has soooo many beautiful stitch designs on it. My first Embroidery was the Singer XL 1000 then I added the Babylock Esante and had to have the Babylock Ellageo which I love. Oh, and thanks again for reminding me, I also own a small portable reg. sewing machine that my son borrowed and never brought back. When I win the Lottery(don't even buy chances)I really want the new Ellisimo made by Babylock. I actually no longer sew enough to warrant even wanting another one but we can always wish! I had my mom's pedal machine when I first learned how to sew and my X decided it was in the way so I took it back to her and she sold or gave it away not long before she passed away. I would give anything if I had kept it but alot of time and alot of water went under the bridge before I thought about it again and she had let it go by the time I asked about it. I think what I need to do is try to find a job in an embroidery shop. I would if I could but can not hold out to work any longer. I can not stand up but a few minutes at the time without nearly passing out from the pain. This arthritis has been fighting me for 17 years.

I have 1 handwind machine,1 treadle machine,2 sewing machines 1a singer and the other a brother.and 2 embroidery machines both brothers. and one quilting machine and stand that takes up a lot of my sewing room. and 1 surger that i love. and a hand held sewer and a minni machine as well so in all that is a total of 10 and i had given away another 3 in the past year. oh and 1 singer knitting machine.

1 Elna air electronic and
1 Pfaff creative
I would love a 6 or 8 needle embroidery machine,I must carry on dreaming.

I have 4 old Singer treadle machines all in good working order,7 hand crank machines also all in good condition. 2 38 year old Singer zig-zag machines, one of which I removed the motor and put into an old treadle base whose machine was not fixable.JC Penny machine about 30 years old. Portable Kenmore machine I've had about 25 years and another Kenmore in a cabinet(don't know its age).2 Singer Tiny Tailor machines. Singer 50 stitch machine about 10 years old. Singer Futura 350 sew-emb machine which is very touchy and sometimes works. Brother Innov-is 2800 sew-emb machine which is wonderful to work with.2 Sergers a Singer and a Brother. So 23 machines unless I've forgotten any.

I have 9. 2 Sewing-only, 3 Sewing-Embroidery, 2 Sergers, 1 Embroidery-only and 1 Industrial, ooooops. 10. My 10th is a quilter.
