So glad you are here, fontmomma. My daughter used to live in KS and when we visited I loved it! It was windy, often, but she said it was b/c KS was in the center of the USA and got weather from everywhere.
I grew up in KS. We always said that Kansas was windy because Nebraska sucks and Missouri blows...jk Now I live in Missouri and my DH is from Nebraska..lol
I also grew up in Kansas - Wichita. But for a LONG time now I have called Clinton, Mississippi home.

I also like to have someone nearby, but I don't think here will be someone. I live in the east of Switzerland, I'm 37 (still!) y.o., and I have four children aged between 5 and 12. I got my embroidery machine from my husband and like doing things with it, but I have no one, who can teach me or help me if something is going wrong (when I digitize or when the machine stitchs). I hope you understand what I mean, I'm too lazy to use my dictionary now, sorry!

From a small town about 35 miles from Chicago....Will be 80 in a few months and enjoy collecting designs...........last count had 26,000 my grand DIL is sorting them out for me at the moment...........I am making lighthouse bookmarks and snowflake names at the moment for the local hospice............also making fleece throws with the logo on them.......just trying to keep busy

My name is Rita and I live in lower Michigan (USA). I have a Brother ULT2001 that I bought about 9 years and I still absolutely LOVE it todate. I purchased PE Design V5 when it came out years ago and as much as I hate to admit it, I am only now playing with it and actually TRYING to learn it by trial and error (...and not so succesfully I might add, LOL). Hopefully someday I may get to a point where I'll be able to share some digitized designs with the cuties here. ~R

Hi, I have a ULT2003D. Very similar to yours I believe. I have PE Design version 5 also. I do a lot of combining designs but still need to learn to digitize better.

Hmmm Sewmom...I might have to pick your brain once in awhile...the manual is not my best method of learning...and see, my learning is so fundamental that I hadn't even thought about combining designs on PE Design...I've just used either my machine or my Smart Sizer Gold program, LOL. ~Rita

I have 1 dog, 2 inside cats , 1 inside outside cat and 3 outside cats. Yes i'm the crazy cat lady..lol

Hi...what a fantastic idea! I'm 59, have two wonderful daughters [30 and 36]and one amazing grandson now 7. I moved to Moncton New Brunswick[that's in the ever-so-cold Canada!]three years ago and love, love, LOVE sewing. I bought my dream machine, Pfaff Creative Vision in Sept. 2008, and have been learning all I can about machine embroidery. I am so fascinated by this wonder. It is a small world after all. I do love coming on here and chatting with everybody and learning new things. Sorry, I should explain. I have a post in personal that I looked up for you but the pictures are not working there now. Acro is short for acrobatic gymnastics. They work in pairs or trios, sometimes more. My older daughter was in a pair. Unfortunately her pair just broke up but she will continue training and be in a new pair or trio next year. I have a Singer Futura CE200. I've had it about 5 yrs, but only really started getting into embroidery as part of an addiction about 3 yrs ago! i really like my machine. I bought the Auto-Punch software so I could use the fonts on my computer - best thing I ever did! The only thing I want to do now is buy the software so I can copy/paste designs so I can have everything on one screen instead of flipping screens trying to make sure everything is lined up properly.

I'm 59 and have sewed since I was about 5 or 6 and have just treated myself to a new machine. My old one (of 29 yrs)was just a sewing machine and I have wanted to do machine embroidery for a while as I have seen some really nice designs done up at the sewing centre. I just recently treated myself to the Janome MC11000SE. I love it. With all the variety of designs here I have lots to work with for now until I get the hang of it. Thank you all for such cute designs.

Hi Ruthie, I'm from Plattsburgh but moved a year ago to be closer to the grands. Wish I'd known about you when I was there! Now we're about an hour south west of Syracuse. There is a quilting guild in Plattsburgh but I never found anyone else who enjoyed embroidery up there.! Most of my siblings are in Peru and one in Morrisonville- you gotta be close to some of them!

Hi, Deb here, I live in Canton Ohio, home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. I have 2 sons, 33 and 30, the youngest is getting married on 10/10/10 after 10 years with his fiance. The older one is divorced. Have 2 cats I am allergic to but won't part with. Had cancer last Fall, had surgery and chemo and am now growing hair so life is nice. Hubby bought me my Brother SE-350 for Christmas and I am having a ball! He retired in Nov. so we are trying to enjoy life!

Deb, bless your heart - you have had to deal with cancer and we didn't know to pray for you - hope your recover from now on will be all good. I will be praying for that.
Thanks, I had the surgery before I got my machine but it has gotten me through the chemo, when I couldn't do anything else I could sit at the machine and change threads.

I am really new to embroidery and to cuties. But I like both. I turned 61 on 5/24 and retired last year. Been a sewer since 9 yrs old, made my first quilt top when I was 12...picked it back up for good in the 70's, now my next adventure started in Jan. when I started a Hoopsisters class at a nearby quilt shop. Have been hooked on collecting freebies for over a month. Love seeing the little freebies coming to life on the fabric. Located in Middle Tennessee, Warren County the Nursery Center of the USA...love reading your suggestions and advice.
