and nothing nasty showed up in the ultrasounds, mind you there's very little breast tissue left to grow any nasties in, but the body has a way of regenerating tissue that has been removed. LOL!

I have to go and have abdominal ultrasounds and also have to see the Geneticist to determine if I actually do carry the Brcca gene as both my sons will be at risk for breast cancer and even my Granddaughters. All I can do is have the tests and at least my offspring will be forewarned.

Our house was treated for the termites on Friday and Ray and I picked up our new spectacles on Tuesday, even MIL got new reading glasses. At 91 she still only needs glasses for reading!!!

I can certainly say that life is never boring.

Life is great and I wouldn't be dead for quids!

Hugs and love to everyone, Meganne

OH Lucy, we are all praying for you and your Hubby.
Just promise me you will remember one thing....

"cancer is not, and does not have to be, a death sentence!"

The power of prayer and positive thinking is most powerful, but you must not give in to self pity and "why me" thinking. Those thoughts are the devils work and they will drag you down and stop you from concentrating on the fight at hand. Believe me, and believe that all things are possible under the hand of the Lord.

In hospital I met a man who had survived lung cancer for 12 years at that time. When he was diagnosed he told them to remove the infected lung, doctors didn't want to, but he insisted and they removed half of both his lungs. He then started a path of a healthier lifestyle, no smoking, no rubbish foods and moderate exercise.
He looked fantastic and was only at the hospital because he was visiting his daughter.

So you see, you really must not give in to the dreaded word, it can be beaten.
Hugs and blessings, Meg

Sure sounds like all around it was good news unless I read your post wrong. I am the one that needs new contacts! I am having a hard time. The last time I had my eyes checked, I had baby cataracts and the starting of glaucoma. The cataracts were barely noticable but that was just over a year ago. I am past due but right now I am still fighting to save my legs and it has been awfully expensive. I really have no idea where I am going to get the money to go to the eye Dr right now. One day at a time.... I am glad you got a clean bill of health! You have been through enough for a lifetime already!
I do hope that those little Buggers did not do too much damage to the structure of your home. Sure hope they did a GREAT job of getting rid of ALL of them! Hugs, Linda

Thanks Linda, yes great news all round.

The termites will take a couple of months before they are all gone as we chose the safest of the chemical treatments (from Bayer) and it takes longer to kill them all. Then we just have to start repairing the damage they cause.

I really feel so angry for Americans when they need medical care and it just isn't there for them, that is really not right.
I could tell you why I feel so angry for you all, but I don't want to tread on any more toes and upset anyone.
Suffice it to say, I just wish Americans could enjoy the benefits of a health care system as good as we have here in Australia.

I pray that the good Lord will find a way to help you not lose your eyesight.
Glaucoma is very serious!!!

Hugs and blessings, Meganne

Oh Meg, I was praying you would get good news - yippie. That makes my eyes leak - but this is a good leak - this time. My Mother "Miss Loretta" would be so please and more than likely was speaking to God on your behalf recently. Please remember that your writing has helped many and think hard about preparing something for the cancer institute that can be printed and use by them, at a later date.

Oh dear, now you have my eyes leaking Shirlene. What a bunch of old softies we are. :-) I am sure Miss Loretta is the most beautiful of Angels and I swear I sometimes hear her. I think she met up with my Mum and they have formed a friendship, I hear girlish giggles when there is no-one around.
Maybe it's just my wishful thinking, but it feels nice.
Hugs n blessings dear friend. Meg

Wow! What fantastic news to read when I came on here tonight! Isn't modern medicine wonderful to think you can forewarn your family of any hidden "nasty" genes?

I am so thrilled for you Meg - a clean bill of health! Glad you and Ray and mother in law all have new glasses too - not bad eh, for a 91 year old to only need them for reading!

Thank God you got those nastly little buggers under control too. I hate termites!

I agree with you life is great and we should all embrace it full on!

Love and blessings to you all Chris

Praise the Lord Meganne, so happy to read all this positive news.

Good to see all is going well and that everyone is o.k.

Glad you have those little termites under control too.

I hope everything goes o.k. with the test for the Bracca gene too. Modern medicine is marvellous with what they can do nowadays.

That's great news, Meganne. Hope it gets better every day till you've regained your strength completely.
I'm glad you've got the termites under control and that the vision of all three of you has improved with the new glasses - that will hopefully make headaches a thing of the past.

You're right, life is great and so much better than the alternative.

Martine
