Meant to tell you when you ask a question you only get so many words in the first box - continue to the second one to finish off your question. I notice you only got to "purchases" and there must have been more to your post!

If you go to the tutorials and hit on 'TUTORIALS' you will be able to find out how to do all sorts of things on here.

check out this site for help also. the dear lady has passed away, but last time i checked her site was still up. she's greatly missed. welcome to this group.

I also have a Designer 1 (bought that in 1999) and I found the manual most useful. Any questions you might have - just ask, there are quite a few here with the same machine.
