Thanks. All those bookmarks in this picture have "left" us as little presents already. So it is time to make some more...

Very pretty and I love the colors you chose.
What size needle did you use since it is a crochet style design? Thank you in advance for any tips you can share.

We are usualy going for the thinnest possible needle and the cheapest thread availible. The crochet designs are pretty "stable" and we let our machine do the job while we even leave the room. Usually one layer of fabric is enough as well. (Most other designs, we use two layers.)

Thank you for your reply and tips. Needle sizes are often confusing for FSL because so many designers recommend different sizes. I usually go with their recommendations.
Also thank you for your lovely designs and generous heart.

I should maybe add that we stitch our designs on a Bernina (using the ART format) and that we do not recommend any scaling of the designs.

Thanks. In fact, the bookmarks have been online for a while now - as have the other projects I've posted - but people seemed to have missed them. The ratio of people going straight to the "free download list" to those looking around in the galleries is ~ 10000:1 Whatever that tells you about people....

The link you've posted is where the shorter link http://design.tavernmaker.de points to. It would be better to bookmark/use the short one, as the physical location of our site might change, the forward-pointing link shoudn't.

You're welcome. In general, the bookmark designs seem to be less often downloaded than some of our others. Anyway, we intend to put more bookmark designs online in near future.

I worried that they would be to thick to actually use in a book. These do look fairly thin though. I have only done FSL ornaments so far and they have the satin stitch all around. I'll have to try a bookmark!

They are fairly thin. Usually 1mm or less.
by bejoscha 31 Aug 2010
Maybe you get a better idea of their thickness by looking at the other images in our gallery. From the main page go to
