My question about duplicated purchases generated some interesting answers. I wasn’t sure about the legality of giving the extra sets to a friend after all I had paid for them. After organizing my files I realized I had 17 sets duplicated mostly from the archived files of Dainty Stitches. Ughhh I am old and can’t remember what I did yesterday. I contacted Dainty Stitches with the request to be able to give the sets as gifts. I did get their permission with a gentle reminder to give them only to one person. I will happily do business with them in the future and thought I post this here. We are far to ready to post a complaint so I wanted to let you know about being a happy customer.

You are funny. You have to come and pick them up. Not too far to come to the Sacramento area.

I'm glad that worked out for you and for a lucky friend!

As all of us I'm sure do, I try very hard not to end up buying a design I already have. At Creative Designs once I accidentally ordered the same size of a design as I already had and when I wrote to the company, they sent me the other size that I had meant to order. I thought this was really nice of them. I think some of the smaller sellers with less powerful software might have a harder time determining that I had already bought that size.

Embroidery Library has a very nice thing where if you put a design in the cart you already bought, it prompts you to that. Here again, they must have powerful software to keep track of what everyone has bought!

I think it is also a little difficult to keep up with which designs you have where some digitizers sell their designs at their own web page and also at one or more collective websites, such as Stitchery Mall, or Secrets of Embroidery.

I am glad that you could get this worked out. They are part of a great digitizing family, and I have not had many issues with any of their sites, but I too, have a couple duplicates. Now I check everything, and have to double check, for I have designs on 2 drives. LOL

What a nice thing to do,,on both of your parts. You for first wanting to gift someone, and then letting everyone know that Dainty Stitches allow you to. Them for allowing it. Thank you on all counts!
