I'm planning on making some placemats out of denim (Embroidery Library) for my son's family to use on a picnic table. Three small kids probably be thrilled with flowers or such. Can someone direct me toward some designs that would work?

I always make my placements reversible. Like Nov/Dec, Jn/July. This way I get double duty, shop at the fabric store and you would be amazed what seasonal fabrics they have, then just embroider their names. To make 4 I buy 1 yard of each fabric, batting. I quilt the fabric diamond shaped, cut to the desired size and then I bind the edges. Hope this helps.

How smart! Tks for the info! I've done reversable table runners, but never thought of placemats!! Duh!

There's some nice bar b que files I saw yesterday on aqua santa blog site. Check out the freebies of the day under freebies & you'll have a direct link to her site. Cute barbque tools, grill, mustard & ketcup.
