I have heard little about it. It does sound aweful. I guess the oilspill is dominating the news. I will pray for all of you.

You are in my prayers .I never saw weather like this .we have had stormes every night and flash floods here in NC we had a flash flood here a couple of days ago it looked like a river going across out yard it was kind of scarey.

Floods can happen ANYWHERE. No matter where you live, you must be prepared. NEVER drive across a road covered in water. Turn around, don't drown.
I live in flood alley in Central Texas. We have the dubious honor of being the most flood prone place in the world. We have had 13 inches of rain in one day here. We know where the low water crossings are, and avoid them. If it does not routinely flood where you are, this can be impossible to know. You can always look up where the 500 year flood plains are in your area on line. I believe these are supplied by the US Army Core of Engineers.

I am so sorry to hear this. It seems floods have hit so many places in the country, the Northeast, Atlanta and now you. I know that my family is from RI and they tell me that there are still hundreds of people in RI that are still homeless and buildings and roads that are still being repaired. Be very careful.
