I don't have your software, but cutwork is just like doing an applique, only you cut the inside not the outside.
Clipartopolis has a tutorial for a cutwork butterfly - in Embird - but I think the method is clear enough and can be applied in any program as it is mostly single stitch and columns/satin stitch. Watch the video's and see if you can use the same method. You'll find it half way down the page.
