My daughter is about to upgrade her laptop and has offered her old one to me I have a desktop with XP, sometimes need it to be more transportable. Anyway laptop has VISTA and I have 3D embroidery studio, for my designer 1 and customizer for my Janome 300E. Then I also have basic Embird with iconizer. So i went searching to see if my software packages would be compatible with the vista laptop. I found lots of information so a huge thank you to all. My question is does anyone know if I can have my software loaded onto 2 computers??? Does anyone know. Hugs Sally

Sally, so happy to hear that you will be getting a new (to you) PC - it sounds much newer than mine if it has VISTA on it, but then if I remember - I was told that my software wasn't compatible with VISTA at the time. Enjoy it and as far as I know - you can use the software on 2 computers - especially if you are using the same email and Internet connection, but I might be wrong.

Hi Shirlene, Thanks I searched both here and on each of my software sites and they do not say that you need a licence for each so I am going to try to upload on both I am sure it will say if I cannot do it. I think here in australia we can pay and get XP loaded onto a laptop with Vista but not sure if that is the same if it is secondhand. Thanks for your comments. I am still in awe of the quilt for your Mum I keep going and looking at the photos...my mum has also past and that will such a treasured memory for you.

Sally - I have 4D and have on both my laptop and my PC. You can have on both systems. I do have some frieds that state that they do not like it on Vista. Both of my systems have Windows. While we do have Vista on a couple systems here at the house, I have never used it, and most definetly not with my emb software. Hubby is studdying up on the Windows7 and plans on replacing the Vista system with the Windows7. I stick to what is familiar to me. LOL Best of luck with the new laptop, and have fun with it.

Thank you I will check out whether I can have XP loaded as most people seem to have trouble with vista....
