I've been experimenting with some cotton variegated threads I've had for about 20 years. The coaster (thanks to Sewinhugs via DBC) had the same thread in the bobbin as on the top. The little basket had white thread in the bobbin. I love the idea of variegated threads, but I haven't yet found the perfect use for them.

I love using variegated thread. What I use it on depends on the project. Such as that coaster that you stitch out of mine. I also use it in trims or leaves. Also I make fsl purses and all of them are stitch out with variegated thread. I just think you have to fine the right mix for you. By the way you did a fantastic job on both of the items. They are beautiful.

Sue, both of these FSL items are done so well with the variegated threads you used, great work. Thank you for the info on the designs as well. *4U

I think they look great! I love using variegated threads for FSL. I too, have threads that are old and do a lot of my test stitching with them. Sometimes I find a FSL design and play with just all kinds of threads...for that one design. It's just fun to see the different texture and effects they create.
Thanks for showing these!!

Very pretty, I never thought of using variegated with FSL. I use it for redwork a lot and I have one design that when I sew it in variegated in looks like stripes. Good job

What lovely work you've done on these. I so enjoy varigated thread too& have used it on medium or small floral designs. This thread certainly kept well. Did you store the thread or have it wrapped up? Thanks for sharing your project& God's blessings.:~D
