with my system.

Well, I have still been having problems, really annoying ones that have made digitising, copying/pasting, browsing and even selecting text, almost impossibly difficult.

Every time I clicked on something in Embird, it would open a selection box or something equally stupid or annoying.

If I tried to select a file to move it, it would open it, regardless of what it was. And if I wanted to move zipped files, it would keep on opening Winzip program, instead of letting me just select the file.
And selecting text was driving me absolutely batty as it would jump it and move it, it even move complete folders inside other folders when I tried selecting them.
I was going batty and blaming the computer, the RAM, the programs being incompatible, the wireless interference, the fan, everything but the mouse itself!

It has been such a struggle to do anything, and everything I have digitised has taken me at least four times longer to complete than it should have. It had made digitising a chore instead of a pleasure.

And this has been going on for months and months.

Well, I finally went out today and bought a new mouse and, VOILA! problems completely solved.

Just goes to show that sometimes it is the simplest thing causing the problem and just because a product has a five year warranty, doesn't mean it will LAST five years.

I wonder if Logitech will honour my warranty and replace my mouse????

Now at last, I can get back into digitising without the frustration. WOOHOO!!

Who'da thought a mouse could cause such problems???

Logitech is very good. They've replaced cordless keyboard and mice for me. Send them an email and tell them the problem. I'm sure they'll help you. Good luck :)

My DIL got me over that hump. She came and checked my PC out once when it was acting wonky and as soon as she turned it on she said "it's your mouse". She also taught me a little trick to get more life out of your mouse if it's not wireless. The ones with a roller ball in them should be taken apart and cleaned regularly. There will be a panel that screws off on the bottom where the ball is. Unscrew it, take the ball out and clean the ball and the inside of the mouse of dust and grit. Then just put ie back together and it should work better.

Yes I sometimes think the old roller ball mice were the best. I only ever had to clean mine out if it played up, but this $99, you beaut, programmable, cordless, laser had nothing I could access to fix.

If I had done a search for it on the Net I would have seen that there were 1,000's of other people having the same problems with this particular mouse...... now I know why they discontinued it and I had to pay $199 for a replacement that doesn't do half the things the other one did.
By jeez this new one had better last more than 4 years!!!! LOL!!!!

Meganne, So glad you found out the problem. I was having some of your same problems and wondered if it could be the mouse. I still had my old mouse from the computer that I lost due to the Power surge ( Gravity Wave ) last year. It worked perfectly. You're right sometimes it is the small things. Nancy

Oh technology. It can drive us crazy, but we no longer can do without it. My Vista Laptop will not let me delete some empty folders. Says they don't exist. Go figure. It finds them though when I search.

Try downloading Unlocker. It's free and deletes files easily and quickly with a right click when asked to.
Google 'Unlocker' and read about it.

Interesting how it is often the small things that cause the problems. I have had a odd mouse at work and finally have asked the IT boys to check it over. Happy digitising

how frustrating, there is nothing worse that i can think of right now that would tick me off more. I hate it when computer gives you the jeebbies, lucky I can fix mine, through to programming clean installs and even replacing components, thank to a very helpful friend.. mind you he lives about 100 kilo meter away so it has all been done via phone calls. Was hard at first but now I help him out when he has a computer glitch.. I feel your frustration. Recently I was having a problem. I blamed it on the new Norton I had loaded on the computer. Well them my son comes over after about a week and all he did was unplug the router from the power cord and plug it back in and what you think happened. It is working great again. I spent hrs on the phone with Norton and my internet provider. And in less than 2 minutes it was fixed.

Gee it has been a busy week. I dragged Ray off to the Woodworking show on Sunday, if I thought I was sore after the craft show I was very sadly mistaken. LOL!!!
Had a great time at both shows!

I bet Ray loved it though - thank God they do put on shows for men - I felt sorry for some of those gentlemen on Thursday - just the look on their faces! LOL - you could almost read their minds!

It always amazes me how small things like that can make me crazy. And then I wonder why I let those little things get to me so much. So glad it's fixed and you're having fun again.
