threading, so no messing around with tweezers or having to thread it it in a specific order. Babylock no longer makes it. They came out with a new model, Evolution, last August. The Evolution threads 2 threads at once with the jet aire threading system. The machines are pricey, but a delight to use because of the threading system and no tensions to mess with. You can probably pickup a used Evolve much cheaper now that Evolution is available.

So, is it like a serger?

It is a serger
Cool. Wish my serger threaded itself! That's the hardest part of serging.

The threading system would be great. My Viking does cover stitching also but unfortunately not the jet threading.

Karen, thank you dear - I have been wondering since that posting. I thought that it might be a serger, but wasn't sure. That is so cool, that it has an auto threader, too.

Tha Babylock sergers are the only brand of sergers with the jet air threading system. It is very quick and easy to learn to do. And they come with what I call a cheatsheet that shows how to thread for each of the types of stitches if you are doing cover stitching and how to thread for each of the overlock stitches. And they do other amazing things like ruffles, attaching elastic and beading.
