I have had to take a seam in and it can only be done on one side, the seam is a french seam. I am wondering about pressing it as I dont want to make a mess. One day I will learn not to volunteer. She is delighted with her ring cushion. As usualy THANKS fellow Cuties

I've done lots of french seams in my day and the best way to press it is by using another piece of fabric over the chiffon. You don't want to burn the chiffon and having the other fabric on top still gives the pressed effect you would be after.

Love and blessings Chris

I've attached a website to show you what I mean. This is not done with chiffon though but you get the idea.

I've never done chiffon, but maybe you can finger press it? Just a suggestion. I, too, have volunteered to alter several wedding dresses, all for free. I'm a slow learner, but I'm getting there. The next one I've only volunteered to hem and bustle the dress and make the veil!

Yup- definately use a press cloth and don't push or pull the iron-just give it enough pressure to smooth it down-otherwise it'll distort the chiffon.
