I have thanks to a local shop scheduling a Christmas in Jule event. I used the Christmas Ornament alphabet (in Designs by Cuties). Great idea for small gifts. Tote bags, Christmas stockings are also on the list for the shop. How about towels, sweatshirt with a design that the recipient would like. An embroidered throw to keep someone warm on a cold night or to use when flying. Lace as in a bowl or suncatcher. Well I could keep going, but hopefully your creative juices are flowing.

Terre, just look back to the last couple Christmas' and what you have done - do it again for another member of the family or a friend - Hehehe! Bookmarks, doilies, bowls, wine glass covers, coasters, hanpkins corners, sucn catchers, goodie bags, angels or ornaments, towels, blankets, pillows, t-shirts, tea towels, and etc. Hehehe!

So far, I've made a couple of emb casserole carriers, small embroidered book totes w/books,and emb bookmarkers. Fabric baby books, and child growth charts (I think that's what they're called.) For my gardening friend, an emb. tote w/tools and an embr work shirt. And the nieces get a beach towel w/tote, embr w/the Girlfriends Diva Initial (FTNOA)and of course sunscreen. Looks like I'm big on totes this year! (cuts out the wrapping) There are a couple of baby quilts in the mix too. <br /> I have a huge family and it's a must to start early! Still struggling with ideas for my older relatives tho! I'm thinking lap quilts, bible covers &/or buying a massage pillow and making a cover for it. Whataya think of this one? - San

I am going to make shopping bags for everyone because the plastic shopping bags will soon be no more and we will all be looking for more bags to do our grocery shopping.

Sorry, I can't give you details yet but I will be digitising slogans to go with the designs I embroider on each bag and I will be experimenting on using natural fibres to make the bags.

I learned that we had Leon-Day, this is NOEL spelled backwards and means just 6 months to go, so of course I thought about christmas and decided to make a gift for ME this year
(... makes me sentimental a bit- it was so much fun to do all the kid stuff, baby quilts, colorful clothing and now they are grown and no embroidered items would be an inspiration for them. An own car would instead. Can't believe it- our oldest will have his driving licence this summer... should think about a quilt with a "As time goes by" theme)
So bottom line:
Thinking of a winter themed quilt with funny penguins, combined with polar fleece patches embroidered with swirls and stars of metallic thread for some glitz.
and a christmas tree border to use up all the scraps and orphan buttons.
I think it is important to stay childish even when the kids are grown. ;-)
