Here is how I fix the stoff and the tear away underlie in the hoop and use the material to do the stoff steady in the hoop

As you can see on the picture 1 is there a push-button (fix) on my sewingmachine.

Very nice tip Sigrun - I don't have a fix button on my machine - but I have saved some basting stitches that I use for things just like this - that need that extra stability.
