I'm getting ready to clean out my "craft room", and rearrage everything. So I thought I'd ask...how do you have your embroidery/sewing stuff organized? Fabrics, threads, needles, bobbins. Curious and looking for new ideas.

Ogranization, what is that? Hehehe!

I have all my fabrics in one area - not one place - but one area - so that when I am looking - I can go to that area. I have all my threads and bobbins in a cabinet close to my machine, my stabilizer and frames are right next to the machine and my needles in a drawer right at the machine for quick access.

Did you see the new room that Roslyn's son made her in the project section? It might be a couple pages back - but take a look - you might get some idea's from that, too. Alot of the CUTE members have posted their rooms - if you really go back in the projects - you might find them, as well.

Whatever you do - do it so you can find things - you are the one working with your items and in your room - suit it for the way you work.

That is a never-ending effort for me. People tell me that my room is very organized but I think it only happens after I finish 1 project and before I bring out everything for the next. Of course, all the projects that are in process or to be done are neatly piled and/or hidden.

I spent yesterday after work cleaning my sewing room and reorganising it, then have done the same with my room at work. Time will tell on the organisation but I am not tidy when I sew...

Good luck! I saw Roslyn's room before and after What a change!!!! I have every thing in a closet and no drawers or shelves so when i need something it is always at the end of whatever it is a mess, again, the threads are the only organized sections, I keep them in plastic drawers, by colors Oh! I forgot the needles too I have them in a small plastic container, organized by numbers and use, My fabrics (lots of them) are everywhere I have a space,I am dreaming for a real sewing room, something like the ones I see on TV!!! Dreaming does not cost a penny!!!! Don't you think?LOL

I am so jealous I do not have a craft room. I sew in my dinning room 12 X 12 foot room and only 1/3 is what my sewing and computer get to use. My front porch not heated or aired has 3 large plastic boxes of material and supplies. my sewing machine is on an old computer desk with my supplies on the bottom in various containers for threads, needles, stabilizer and other sewing supplies. When second son moves out I will convert his room into a marvelous sewing room, just for me.
