I designed these embroideries for our narrowboat (Sylph, in case you hadn't guessed!) a while ago and have finally got round to stitching them together to make a cushion to go on one of the armchairs in the saloon. The roses and castles are traditional designs, usually painted on the boats and on the utensils etc., but of course I have an embroidery machine! Love from Dianne x x x

It's lovely Dianne. I remember another one from way back. Your designs are so nice. Do you have enamel ware with the same patterns?

Not exactly the same patterns - I drew these myself - but there's a definite style to them and we have a coal scuttle, teapot, planters and a large water jug all decorated with roses. I fancy painting the insides of the doors and hatches too but I'm still trying to pluck up courage to start!
I love those colourful designs, they are so typical for narrowboats. You did a great job designing these.
Whenever you paint those doors and hatches show us the result please! I am sure they will look great too.

Dianne, my husband asked me if you ever showed what you did with these designs - I will show him this picture - he will be impressed - for sure. Great job.
