Just wanted to share with you an Irish Dance Dress my daughter made. It is a size 6. She makes them for individuals. This one doesn't have a cape in the back but a BIG bow, which is the going style right now. She does embroider different designs on them, but with this one she just did the neckline.

Terre, you daughter has a great talent - this doesn't need more - but I am sure that the other's are lovely with the extra embroidery work. WOW!

I'll try to find some other pics to show you the embroidery on the dresses.

Thank you. She has been doing this for a few years. She doesn't use a pattern, but just goes by measurements. Unfortunately I have the have the pattern. LOL And I've been sewing for over 40 yrs.

What a lovely dress. How irish dance costumes have changed since a friend's daughter did it years ago!

I know they have become more trendy...We still have the traditional which is normally used for set dances, but these solo dresses have come a long way...

What a beautiful dress. It looks like a lot of work but also looks like it is worth it.

It is a lot of work. It took three weeks to do this one, some take longer if there is a lot of embroidery. Most dresses she makes goes between 300 - 800.

Love this dance dress, especially the ruffled skirt!

thank you, my daughter makes them for Irish Dancers in SC and NC USA, actually anyone that wants one, but it's easier if it is locally done because of the fittings.

Your daughter does beautiful work. I suppose she learned from you.
thank you. hehehe. it's funny you say that she learned from me, because I tried to teach her how to sew, but she couldn't understand my way of teaching. She went out on her own and actually makes dresses without patterns. Me I could never do that. LOL...
