I'm so excited that I just had to share this. You will recongize it from CuteAlphabets. I have had my Designer SE for 3 years and never used the Mega Hoop! Because of the name length I couldn't fit it into any of my other hoops. Sooo, I tried it and it was amazingly easy. I thought it would be complicated to do in 4D and to stitch out. But when stitching out the machine tells you when to change hoop settings. It worked out perfectly!

Carolyn, how great this looks - so happy to know that you used a hoop that you hadn't before - now perhaps you will do others, too. Very CUTE!

So very cute. What thread did you use ... it actually looks shiny and sets everything apart. Thanks for posting.

Most of the colors are Robison-anton rayon thread. The orange is Sulky rayon.

Yes, isn't that hoop nice when you have something like this to do? I have been having to use it some this week, and probably had not used more than 2 or 3 times previously. Good job with this.

I had avoided trying it out. But so glad I did. Guess it was a good thing that I wanted to do this design so bad.

It looks great! Isn't that hoop wonderful, I've had mine since they introduced it and bought their card 113 - with large flowers - to get started and later bought #137, the Swedish Santas, as well. I love it, especially for sayings across a T-shirt.
I bet you'll use it more often now.

by clawton 21 Jul 2010
Yes it is great. It will allow a much longer design than my other hoops. It also holds the fabric snugg.

It came from cutealphabets.com. It is one of the daily free ones. The last letter was just offered. I don't know how long they will continue to offer letters free. However, you can purchase the set. They do not have a membership available like this site.

I just love this design; you,re so lucky to have the mega hoop. Can we do something similar without that particular hoop?
by clawton 21 Jul 2010
Thank you. I guess it would depend upon your sewing machine and what size hoops come with it. The design ended up 11 1/4 inches. It would also depend upon how many letters you are using. The 4x4 hoop would do one letter plus the main body section.
