Picture 1 is the front (oh DUR!!!) LOL!!
Picture 2 is the Kitchen
Pic 3 is the Dining area adjoining the kitchen
Pic 4 is the Lounge-room
Pic 5 is the back
Pic 6 is part of the view from the back veranda

All the living area is upstairs and the ground floor only has a toilet and laundry. The rest of it is a blank canvas for us to do with what ever we want.
I will have a HUGE sewing room/(4th bedroom), with an ensuite and walk in storage/(walk in robe), Ray will have an even bigger work room, we'll have a kitchenette and still have room to garage our two cars.

I can't tell you how excited we both are, it's beyond our wildest dreams to have all this coming to us and it's on the beautiful Central Coast of NSW which means I will only be 50 minutes drive from my grandkids.

Thank you Lord for this wonderful blessing.

Congratulations - everything looks so wide and
airy and it is a big gift to have a view on a
lake or swimming area and much more of a gift
to have room for all the sewing and embroidering things. You will be happy with
your family and animals. No one to disturb you.
My eldest son and his girl friend returned
from Australia after having touring around
for six months and we enjoyed their lots of
pictures and stories. You are lucky to live
in such a beautiful country - in Germany
there is not much space between the houses
and the gardens are small. It's too expensive to buy land. So be glad you have
room enough for your creativity...
and my thanks to all the gentle people "down
under" for having been so kind to my son and
his girl-friend for six months :-) LOL Maria

Meganne, I can see why you said your dream home. It is beautiful and so is the view. My question is, do you have the perfect sewing/craft room also? I know you will be working on getting your new home to look and feel like you and not someone else's decor but eventually you will want to get back to your machines. I do hope you have a good size room with alot of light for your sewing room....when you do finally have time to get back to the embroidery! I would just adore having the porches and the water behind the house. I am so happy for you! Many blessings to You and Ray! May everything go without a hitch so you can get in and settled and begin to enjoy your new home! Linda

Thanks Linda, yes the ground floor is totally empty except for a toilet and laundry so we will be building a sewing room in one corner and it will have its own en-suite and walk in robe. We will have to add windows but that will take time to finance.

Meg, this is wonderful - what a beauty - no wonder you are so thrilled - this is big and so much room - I would have trouble filling the space with our furniture - does this also mean - that you get new furniture? I am sure what you have would be lovely in this setting. Can't wait for you to move in and get comfortable - especially in the new embroidery room. Yippie!

by meganne 27 Jul 2010
New furniture would be so nice but I think it will have to wait a while. We do have mine, Ray's and Mum's to fill it up with, though Mum's is so old (not antique old worse luck, LOL!!!) that it will probably go to Goodwill. Ray hates all of his so we'll be able to get mine out of storage and use that until we have some spare readies to buy new things.
First thing will be to secure the outside with fencing so my animals will be safe.
Then we'll plan where to put walls downstairs to best utilise the space.
My sewing room will be done in such a way that (if we ever sell it) it will be a 4th bedroom with an en-suite and walk in robe.
There might even be room for a 5th bedroom and still leave enough room for Ray's workshop and the cars. We really won't know until we move in and measure up. Of course it is like a new basement where there is no wall or ceiling linings so it will be a while before we have spare funds for all of that. We'd also like to build a drive through garage along the side of the house where the driveway ends, and the dream of a small swimming pool out back, but it all takes money and earning the money takes time.
And we're not getting any younger. LOL!!!! At least we will have the house and the dreams to finish it off.
And there will be a guest bedroom for Terri (or any other Cute visitors) to stay in when they visit Aus.
And Ray dreams of having a boat too.

AH, Dreams, it's what life is all about.
by tippi 27 Jul 2010
sound just great. One thing at a time is my moto.
by shirlener88 28 Jul 2010
It all sounds so wonderful - you will get your furniture out of storage and it will be like having new. You will be able to do the things that you want to do - in time - until then - you will have space - wouldn't it be neat - if you were able to have Cute family members come and visit - when they are traveling through - I know that if Teri does visit again - that would be a welcome retreat for her, too. Sounds like a dream - would love to be dreaming it for myself - but for now - I will dream with your dear one. I am thrilled for you.

Reading other Cuties postings to you on your new home I am curious as to how quickly house purchases go through in Aus as in some parts of the world take an age and others move very quickly. UK friends are still waiting after 3 months for something to happen and they are first time buyers
by meganne 28 Jul 2010
The normal time frame here, for most conveyancing, is six weeks, but if it's straight forward, and the solicitors are competent and efficient, it can be completed within 3 weeks..
I'll do our conveyancing and depending on legal searches etc, I hope to settle within the normal 6 weeks.

Since MIL takes up a bedroom and Ray so desperately wants somewhere for his woodworking and tinkering, we decided that my home just doesn't have enough rooms. All my rooms are quite large but it's still only three bedrooms. When I built it I was only me and it's everything I need but the house and pool take up the whole block and there is no room to expand for Ray's workshop and my machines. We could build a 10 metre square first floor, but it would spoil my home as it would only cover 1/3 of the house and look ridiculous.
I don't know if this Google link will work:

absolutely beautiful, it looks just like paradise. We live on a small lake and I never tire of looking out my window and we've been here for 27 years. I know very little about Australia - does this section get winter? Snow maybe? Just curious, again congrats and enjoy your new home. ;-)
by meganne 28 Jul 2010
No snow here, it can get chilly but it is a tourist area north of Sydney and well known for its beautiful beaches and balmy weather. Lovely breezes cool down the heat of summer and more often than not, the winter days are sunny and the nights great for snuggling.
The water can get quite cold but if it wasn't for that, some winter days are warm enough to go swimming.
I expect it might get a little cooler being right on the river and I worry about the possibility of mosquitoes, but the river should be salt water as it joins the lakes system that runs out to sea.
I'll know more after my next visit.

Yes it truly is a lovely home. I just hope my legal investigations don't turn up any more nasties. Already discovered we can't build anything down the empty (right) side of the land as it has a ten foot drainage easement.
That effectively stops us from the future plan of building a double drive-through garage/boat shed. Hmmmmm!!!!
Disappointing.
I'm driving up to visit the local Council offices tomorrow and find out more about the property and restrictions.
Wish me luck.

Thanks Sweetie. I'm a bit rusty on the conveyancing but if I need help I have my ex boss to advise me. Only thing is I'll probably be paying him instead of him paying me. hehehehe!

Thanks Lena Mae, Room to move is our biggest problem here at Ray's place, every time one of us turns around we knock something down. (often each other) LOL!!!
