make a folder and click on the wanted design. than save in that folder. lots are in a zip. you need to download winzip, install this to be able to open the zip.
You than need embroidery software in which you open the design

Once you download a zip file, you may choose to place it in a folder for later, or, you can extract the files first and choose the format(pes,vip,sew,etc.) you wish to keep. If you have windows there may already be a program like winzip or other that can do this for you. For example, when you click on the folder, if you look at the top you will see extract file; click on this and it will do it for you. Then, all you have to do is save what you like in a folder. Depending on the machine you have will depend on how you download your designs. I have a Brother machine and have PE design with it. I download a pes design to my laptop and save it. When I want to use the design I then download it onto a floppy disk as my machine uses floppy disks or the memory card with the PE design. New machines now can be loaded with a memory stick or direct form your computer. If you still have problems after trying again to download and open designs go back to the shop you got your machine from. They should demonstrate to you what to do. I always say that a good dealer is invaluable. Maybe you might like to say where you live and there might be a fellow Cutie nearby who would be able to help you. many people here download designs like crazy - you never know when you might want a design AND like the daily free designs here take them as offered as if you want one later it probably will not be free any longer. If you are still not able to get sorted say so here

What machine do you have? some machines do allow you to send the design right to the machine with the software that comes with the machine, but that is all it does. If you want to put designs together you do need a program that will do that.
Saving designs are easy you just click on the format you need like pes(for a brother machine) hus,vip (Viking machine) and so on. make a folder so you have a place to send the design to. I have a main folder then subfolders ex main my designs
sub animals
sub fonts
sub kitchen
sub people
sub xmas
and so on
Some designs are zipped so you need to unzip them before you can use them, I use my windows to unzip but others use seperate programs such as Winzip, this all depends on what you prefer.
