What a shame! Can't patch it and put another design over it?

not really, I'm afraid it will interfere with the grommet. And if I patch, I'm afraid it will eventually tear with all the use it will be getting. boo hoo

Can you satin stitch it closed and put some design on top? Star, moon, sun, etc.

Thanks but unfortunately that is where grommets are going to be place, so it would need to be sturdy with no weaknesses.

I did that and had to rip out the whole border around the whole quilt....only because the designs was done over where the top and side connected....I didn't want to patch it so off went the whold thing....Actually come to think it it was 2 borders because it ran through both....I will be posting this quilt soon as it is finished...my 1rst christmas present.....
